Follow Buzz Aldrin onto a new land

Abstract

You have still a chance to be the first man following me into the new world of science, the world, where the new holistic, uniform description of Nature became reality. There are many wise and bright people going there. But apparently the last step, to exceed one’s own limit, to cross the boundary between the old and the new paradigm, is the most difficult one.

You have still your chance

You have still a chance to be the first man following me into the new world of science, the world, where the new holistic, uniform description of Nature became reality. There are many wise and bright people going there. But apparently the last step, to exceed one’s own limit, to cross the boundary between the old and the new paradigm, is the most difficult one.

Maybe you are not a scientist and you ask yourself, what is a scientific paradigm at all. According to The Free Dictionary by Farflex the term Paradigm first appeared in English in the 15th century, meaning “an example or pattern,” and it still bears this meaning today. The extended meaning of this term is: „A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them, especially in an intellectual discipline.“ According to Wikipedia, the American physicist and philosopher of science Thomas Kuhn has left for us the deepest claims concerning the progress of scientific knowledge.

What I find not so much correctly is one of the Kuhn’s fundamental claims that scientific fields undergo periodic „paradigm shifts“. This term suggests that a paradigm is something that can be shifted as a whole from one scientific period to the next one. It is not true. In order to achieve a progress in science we have to replace the old paradigm with a new one. Thus we have to speak about a paradigm change (alteration) rather than about a „paradigm shift“.

If my words are not inspirational enough for you to take your decission to follow me, watch and listen to the series of impressive videos prepared by the Club of Budapest. Especially the last three of them (11, 12, and 13) are inviting you to join the movement shifting our world to the new era of the global consciousness. In this case the authors are correctly speaking about the World-Shift, because we have got just the single world for all of us. We can modify it, but we cannot replace it with a completely new one.

And it is interesting to observe that even in the first nine videos of this wonderful series you can see how difficult is to leave the old customization in our thinking about the Nature (for example about the atomic structure of our body, or about the Big-Bang hypothesis of the Universe beginning, and so on).

So, if you really wish to follow Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in walking over a new scientific landscape, just follow me and leave your serious comment here below.
